about us

Those who tell the stories rule society

Plato

Not that we want to rule the world, but we do want to bring you an authentic voice on all things adventure: travel+culture, gear+goods, and tech+transport – because everything in life is an adventure. We consider ourselves at WAT to have a high level of authority and be fairly expert in some of these areas. And when we don’t have a clue about something, we’ll be naturally curious with what we find – maybe that’s a great piece of gear or tech that blows our minds away or something we find completely useless.

We will strive to bring you interesting, entertaining, and novel content about places, products, and issues – how they apply to us, and how, in turn, they might apply to you. Remember to keep in mind that we are human beings with our own biases, and, therefore, any opinions that we express remain solely our own.

A note on climate change, travel, and sustainability

We can also put together a custom experience for you: perhaps you are longing for something adventurous or culturally explorative but short on time or ideas. If this is the case, allow us to brainstorm something up for you. We guide and can literally be your travel buddy too. On a more serious note though, we are keenly aware of the climatic changes taking place around the planet and the impact this has on travel, resources, the environment, and societies. Thus, we consider our responsibility in this role when reporting, crafting a trip, or consulting with you about yours.

We are from around the world with unique perspectives and backgrounds that include living off-the-grid and training in the holistic principles of Permaculture and organic farming. This shapes our philosophy and helps us to stay forward thinking at WAT. But, one thing is for sure – we share a passion for adventure.

Gina Galetti is traveling since 5 years old. She contributes her independent spirit and spitfire personality to her Italian grandfather – a WWII pilot, her dynamic and adventurous father and brothers – also pilots, engineers, entrepreneurs – and other great grandfather, a mountain guide and hunter from the village of Trenta in the Slovenian Alps. Heck, let’s throw in her crazy creative mother too for good measure.

She combines a diverse background in history+literature, mountain athletics, lifestyle, tech, and automotive journalism with the study of Permaculture, off-grid living in remote parts of West Virginia and Northern Canada, and love for languages (current count 3) – and it ain’t over yet folks!

Adrien Rascle is a Grenoble, France kind of Frenchman, and you know what that means – gastronomy, wine, cheese, alpine, skis, the works. He currently resides in central London, but high-tails it out of town at a moment’s notice when possible to spend his free time exploring, trail-running, trekking, bike-packing, ski-touring, telling funny jokes, and doing photography. What else would you expect when you grow up with the French Alps at your doorstep.

Liam Fujita is a University of British Columbia engineering student with his sights set on designing technical materials and gear for the outdoor industry. An aspiring and inspiring guy who loves travel, adventure, and photography. He’s also lucky enough to call the Canadian Rockies home and have them as his personal playground.
